Christmas 2009

I am so grateful for family. We were blessed to have all our kids home this year. It has been six years since this has happened.

Carl Ren got a 20 ga shotgun from Santa and some shells, a Crayon Maker, some socks, Edward Sissorhands movie and Wizards of Waverly Place movie, some nuts, mints and gum. Chas gave him an electronic snap kit.

I got some very pink footie pajamas with bunny feet. I will enjoy them while working on the computer. I also bought myself a cute stocking hanger shelf that my dad hung for me.

Shelbi got to go shopping with her dad at the mall.

Chas also went shopping and got some shoes and a shirt. A big box of clay targets to shoot, some IKEA pillows with red covers and a poster from Shelbi and Carl.

Shelbi, Chas and Torey got Colten an American Eagle hat, and warm socks.

I got him a little tool set.

Torey bought himself hunting gear, Carl gave him some fleece lined levis and socks.

We went to the Jackson's for brunch, and surprised them by wrapping Chas in a big box. We wheeled him in on a dolly, and had Carl unwrap him.

It was a fun way to start the day.

The biggest surprise was having Colten there. It was so good to see him. We have had a huge weight lifted and it's nice to be able to breathe easier.

My prayers have been answered. Thank you!

Snowmobiling

Yesterday Feb 21, 2009 Carl Torey and I went snowmobiling. It was a beautiful day. I went to capture some of what Torey loves to do on camera. I think I got a couple good pictures. Just before we were headed back, Torey went up a hill and caught some air unexpectedly, he let off the throttle and lost his balance when it landed. The snowmobile rolled once and he caught it, but as his arms were stretched over his head holding on to the snowmobile, it decided to roll on top of him pinning his helmet (head) and shoulders. He couldn't breathe or move, and the snowmobile was still running so the exhaust was getting to him also. He struggled and got scared that he would suffocate. Every time he moved, the snowmobile would settle harder on his face crushing his nose. He thought he was going to die. He calmed himself down and thought about what he needed to do. He took slow breaths and finally got his arm out and got free from the backpack and helmet. Once he got back down to us, and told me what happened, I felt horrible for sitting at the bottom wondering what was going on and taking pictures of him up there while he was in trouble.
I didn't want to go up with my snowmobile, because I am not skilled that way and thought it would cause more problems. I am so thankful that he is okay, and he had the ability to do what he needed to do. His nose is bruised and swollen, but we can live with that.

Valentines Photo Party

I'm finished with my parties for Valentines. I had a pretty good turn out of mostly family and friends. I took some pretty good pictures for just setting it up in my living room. I went to Janet's in Far West and set up the lights in her living room also. I took several pictures and when it got time for Janet's turn .... my transmitter quit working. I tried everything. I spent three days in Pixels trying to get the problem solved. It ended up being the contact was too loose, but a brand new one didn't work either. The company is supposed to be sending me a new one. I doubt that it will solve the problem, but at least it is under warranty, so I'll give it a try.
The Canon camera's hot shoe isn't a tight enough fit.

School Lunch

My son came home from school on Monday and announced that there were maggots in his rice. I informed him that maggots can't live in the winter or after being cooked. He insisted that he wasn't the only one who had them in his food. My guess is that they are weavels, but even so...... the school shouldn't be feeding food to kids that have bugs visible to the eye.
We all have had experience with weavels and know that they get in grains that have been sitting too long.

Valentine Kiss

Day One

People tell me to start a blog, so I'm starting one. I don't consider myself to be a good writer, and really don't know where this blog will take me.
I am hoping this will be a fun adventure, and that I will be able to make friends that share the same interests in photography and photoshop. I always have questions and looking for new ideas or how to's......

I am hoping to get busy taking pictures and make some money along the way. I just quit my job of 18 years being a CT tech, and I'm scared, but also tickled to be free of being on call all hours of the day and night.
